So, you’ve got a website. That’s great, but you may be wondering where all those customers are? Simply having a website is not enough. There are literally billions of web pages out there on the net, so you need to give Internet users at least an outside chance of finding you. Your website needs to be marketed effectively to unlock the true (and huge) potential of the Internet for your business.

Ensuring requested opt-in email is delivered to subscriber inboxes is an increasingly difficult battle in the age of spam filtering. Open and click thru response rates can be dramatically affected by as much as 20-30% due to incorrect spam filter classification.

Confirming that the people who ask for your information have actually requested to be on your list is the number one step in the battle for deliverability. You should be using a process called confirmed opt-in or verified opt-in to send a unique link to the attempted subscriber when they request information. Before adding the person to your list they must click that unique link verifying that they are indeed the same person that owns the email address and requested to subscribe.

If you’ve been surfing the net for the last half hour (current time: 1:50 p.m.), the latest buzz in the world wide web is the launch of Apple’s latest gadget, the iPad Tablet.

The iPad has many of the same features that are available on an iPhone, MacBook and even a smart phone. It’s capable of email, web browsing, photos, videos, and most importantly, iBooks.
In reality, the iPad is just a shiny new toy for many Apple lovers out there, but for the $499 price tag, some may find it hard to justify buying one if they currently use Apple products.
I’m curious to see how iBook sales will affect the publishing industry, and whether newspapers are finally able to make money off of their content through the iPad. I guess we’ll have to wait to find out!
